We are happy to attend ECIO 2025, the leading global platform for specialists in minimally invasive cancer care. The 2025 edition will feature a dynamic scientific programme, highlighting the latest research, technological advancements, and multidisciplinary approaches in interventional oncology.
IASIOS members will take part in key sessions covering topics such as HCC management, immuno-oncology, and AI in IO, alongside expert-led tumour board discussions. IASIOS will also host an educational workshop and offer a range of engaging activities at the IASIOS booth.
Empowered Teams, Exceptional Care: The Essential Role of Radiographers & Nurses in Interventional Oncology Workshop

Interventional oncology is built on collaboration. This session shines a spotlight on the essential roles radiographers and nurses play in ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centred care throughout every phase of treatment.
Presentations will feature professionals from IASIOS Centres across Europe and the US, sharing their insights and strategies from real-world practice.
Section 1: Preparing Together – Key Knowledge for a Seamless Treatment
Duration: 45 minutes
Gain practical, team-based knowledge covering:
- What to prioritise before the procedure—from informed consent and imaging to room readiness and patient preparation
- Communication skills and team coordination during the procedure, especially for awake treatments or unexpected complications
- Best practices for postoperative care, follow-up structuring, and the nursing role in long-term patient support
Section 2: Navigating Challenges in Diverse Treatments
Duration: 45 minutes
Explore how roles and responsibilities shift depending on the procedure and setting:
- Nursing strategies for different patient profiles and treatment goals
- Radiographer insights for maintaining safety and precision across various imaging environments
- Leadership skills for managing multidisciplinary teams under pressure

Following the workshop, all attendees are invited to the Radiographer and Nurse Social Hour—a relaxed space to enjoy food, drinks, and connect with peers from around the world.
Accreditation Workshop

IASIOS accreditation provides a structured pathway to implementing the highest standards of quality assurance in interventional oncology. This workshop offers a clear, practical breakdown of the CIRSE Standards of Quality Assurance and guidance on optimizing clinical workflows.
Join IASIOS Committee Chairperson Dr. Jean Palussière and IASIOS COO Mardis Karlsdottir as they share key insights on the accreditation process, helping centres strengthen their clinical patient pathways and achieve international recognition for excellence.
Scavenger Hunt
Date: Ongoing throughout the congress

The IASIOS Scavenger Hunt is a fun and interactive way to engage with the congress while celebrating teamwork and quality in interventional oncology. Participants will complete various challenges, earning points by capturing key moments throughout the event.
Teams from IASIOS Centres will compete by completing tasks, uploading photos, and boosting their scores through LinkedIn posts. The top teams will win exciting prizes, including congress registrations and travel grants.
How to Participate
- Visit the IASIOS booth to register for the scavenger hunt.
- You will receive a link to your hospital’s shared folder—share it with colleagues to build your team. The more participants, the better your chances of scoring high.
Rules
- Upload each completed task photo to your shared folder before the deadline.
- Each completed task earns 1 point.
- Look out for special hints during the congress—some tasks may reveal opportunities for extra points or hidden clues.
- Boost your score by posting on LinkedIn. Each original post that includes #IASIOS and tags @IASIOS earns 1 additional point.
Note: Reshares do not count. - At the end of the scavenger hunt, include a photo of your scavenger hunt postcard that shows your hospital’s name, team members, and their professional roles.
Scavenger Hunt Tasks
- Take a photo of a presentation from an IASIOS Centre that includes the IASIOS logo on the slide. (1 point per presentation)
- Take a photo of an FYF Grant Winner holding their trophy.
Hint: Check out Honorary Lecture 221. - Take a picture of yourself reading the Standards of Quality Assurance in interventional oncology.
Hint: Up to 3 extra points available for creativity (location, pose, or people). - Take a photo with someone from an IASIOS Centre outside of Europe.
- Take a photo with someone from an IASIOS Centre in Germany.
- Take a photo with someone from an IASIOS Centre in France.
- Take a photo with someone from an IASIOS Centre in the Netherlands.
- Take a photo with an IASIOS team member during the IASIOS cocktail reception.
- Capture something outside of the congress in IASIOS colours (ruby and gold).
