We are pleased to announce the First Year Forward Grant, which offers hospitals all over Europe the chance to facilitate their journey towards IASIOS accreditation. IASIOS accreditation stands for excellence in interventional oncology, but it’s more than that—it’s about shaping the future of patient care.

Kindly supported by Boston Scientific*, this grant will fully cover the enrolment and first-year membership fees (€12,500 in total) for each of five select hospitals, helping them achieve global standards in IO practice. This grant offers you the chance to bring your hospital to the forefront of IO, ensuring the highest standards and best practices are implemented for your patients’ benefit.

Securing IASIOS accreditation through the First Year Forward Grant goes beyond financial support—it’s an opportunity to lead, innovate, and set new benchmarks in interventional oncology across Europe. All eligible hospitals are encouraged to apply!

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be located in Europe.
  • Have completed at least 150 therapeutic IO procedures in the last 12 months.
  • Achieve at least 75% on the IASIOS Self-Assessment.
  • Provide a signed financial commitment from the appropriate authority (e.g., Head of Department, Hospital Director) to fund the full four-year accreditation cycle after the first year.

Application Materials:

  1. Motivation Letter: Explain why your facility is applying for the grant and how IASIOS accreditation will benefit your IO department and patients.
  2. Self-Assessment: Evaluate your current standing and identify areas for improvement. A minimum score of 75% is required. Upon completing of the Self-Assessment, you can request a report of your results with bespoke guidance and suggestions for improvement.
  3. Project Plan: Provide a detailed roadmap that outlines the steps, timelines, and team members responsible for achieving IASIOS standards. Check out the following resources for writing an action plan and business case proposal.
  4. Financial Commitment: Submit proof of financial support for the full four-year accreditation process, signed by the appropriate authority (e.g., Head of Department, Hospital Director).

How to Submit an Application:

  1. Create an account for your facility on the application portal.
  2. Add all the relevant contact details to proceed further.
  3. Upload the required documents.
  4. Review your submission.
  5. Submit or save as a draft to work on your application later.
  6. After submission, check the confirmation email.

Key Dates:

  • Applications Open: November 1, 2024
  • Deadline for Submission: February 1, 2025
  • Selection Period: February 1 – February 15, 2025

Once the facility is selected, they must register for IASIOS within four weeks, or the grant will be forfeited.

Selection Process:

All applications will be reviewed by an independent review board. Applicants will be informed on the success of their application no later than two weeks after the selection process is closed.
